Speaker Series: Anti-Submarine Warfare in the Pacific: 1970–1980

Guest speaker Michael Nickodem retired after a twenty-nine year U.S. Navy and U.S. Navy Reserve career. As a Naval aviator, he has 2700 hours of flight time and flew throughout the Pacific and Indian Ocean as part of the Navy’s response to the threat of Soviet submarines. He will be sharing his experience flying the P-3 Orion and the formerly top secret world of anti-submarine warfare in the 1970s and 80s. Topic includes the Soviet threat, U.S. Navy countermeasures, and how Soviet submarines were detected and prosecuted.
General admission rates apply, but event registration is not necessary. This event is free for members!
