Retired U.S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander Daryle Layton spent 3 years in Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 12 (HM-12). He will give an overview of the Vietnam War, why the coast and harbors of North Vietnam were mined, and the cease-fire that followed.

Also included is the technology of U.S. mines, helicopters used for mine-sweeping, and how a hydrofoil sled (Mark-105) was used.
