Kilroy Coffee Klatch: Idaho’s largest monthly gathering of veterans!

April 1 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

The Kilroy Coffee Klatch was started by a handful of Veterans looking for a place to share coffee, donuts, and stories with other Veterans. Since then Kilroy has grown into the largest monthly gathering of Veterans in Idaho!

Our Kilroy Coffee Klatch meets the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. and is FREE to any and all veterans! The general public is also welcome; regular admission charges will apply. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. No RSVP required. We hope you will join us!

April 1, 2025:

Sgt. Ernie Ferguson was just 18 years old when the U.S. Marine Corps sent him to Peleliu – part of the tiny island chain of Palau in the Pacific Ocean.

On September 15, 1944, Ernie and his fellow Marines invaded Peleliu believing it was only lightly defended by the Japanese. In fact, there were some 12,000 Japanese concealed on the island in wait. The Battle of Peleliu was one of the bloodiest military conflicts of the Pacific.

Through a combined effort, over 28,000 service members from the 1st Marine Division and 81st Infantry Division fought and endured a 40% casualty rate to liberate the island from the Japanese.

At age 95, Ernie returned to the battlefield. Join us and hear the story of Ernie’s return.

Please note: Admission is only FREE for Veterans who attend the Kilroy Coffee Klatch. Admission will be charged to those who simply wish to visit the museum during that time (without participating in the Coffee Klatch).
