SUMMARY:Rosie the Riveter Day
DESCRIPTION:Help Rosie take over the museum March 21st 10 am – 5pm. Dress like Rosie and get in FREE!\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us at the Warhawk Air Museum as we celebrate Rosie the Riveter Day\, honoring the women of World War II who redefined what it meant to be a woman in the workforce and played a vital role on the home front. \n\n\n\nOur program kicks off at 11:00 a.m. followed by hands-on STEM activity stations throughout the Museum where kids (and kids at heart) can: \n\n\n\n\nLearn how to rivet\n\n\n\nTest your codebreaker skills\n\n\n\nStart a victory garden\n\n\n\nLearn about rationing \n\n\n\nFly a drone\n\n\n\nExperiment with electrical circuits\n\n\n\nLearn about current Warhawk restoration projects…and more!\n\n\n\n\nKids under age 18: For each station you complete\, receive a raffle ticket to win prizes and a chance to sit in our P-40N Parrot Head and have your picture taken! Drawing will take place at 3 p.m. Must be present to win. \n\n\n\nDropZone Burgers will be here with their delicious burgers and treats. \n\n\n\nDress like Rosie and get in FREE! All other guests receive $5 discounted admission. \n\n\n\n\n\nWarhawk Rosies \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll have stations throughout the Museum for kids to learn to rivet\, test their codebreaker skills\, make a recruitment poster\, start a victory garden\, and experiment with electrical circuits. PLUS\, dress like Rosie and get in FREE! \n\n\n\nThank you to our sponsors!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy is Rosie the Riveter important?\n\n\n\nDuring World War II\, millions of working-age men were drafted into military service\, creating an urgent labor shortage on the home front. To meet wartime demands\, the U.S. government encouraged women to step into roles traditionally held by men. In response\, millions of women rolled up their sleeves and entered the workforce\, forever changing American industry and society. \n\n\n\nNicknamed “Rosies” after the iconic recruiting poster\, these women worked wherever they were needed—factories\, shipyards\, welding shops\, airplane hangars\, and electronics workshops. They faced long hours\, hazardous conditions\, food rationing\, limited childcare\, and gender discrimination\, yet they persevered. For the first time\, women were also allowed to serve in the United States Armed Forces in official capacities. \n\n\n\nRosies didn’t just support the war effort by sending their sons\, husbands\, fathers\, and brothers overseas—they gave their own time\, energy\, and in some cases\, their lives. Their courage\, resilience\, and determination continue to inspire generations. \n\n\n\nOn this special day\, we invite you to explore our home front displays and experience history hands-on—including the chance to learn how to rivet\, just like Rosie. \n\n\n\nRosie the Riveter–symbol of the “We Can Do It” spirit

SUMMARY:Spring Break Camp
DESCRIPTION:Lost Without a Signal?\n\n\n\nMilitary & Aviation Navigation Leadership Camp\n\n\n\nWhat would you do if you were deep in unfamiliar terrain\, responsible for leading others\, and modern technology suddenly failed? In this immersive\, hands-on session\, campers will learn the fundamentals of military and aviation navigation using a map and compass—skills that service members relied on long before GPS and still train for today. \n\n\n\nParticipants will take part in interactive navigation exercises that mirror real-world challenges faced by pilots\, aircrew\, and ground forces. The program explores the history of navigation in military and aviation operations\, highlighting how accurate navigation was critical to mission planning\, aerial navigation\, and survival. Campers will examine historical navigation instruments found throughout the museum and learn how aviators and military leaders used them to operate in combat\, exploration\, and rescue missions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCamp Details:\n\n\n\n\nMarch 17-20\n\n\n\nAges 12-16\n\n\n\n$100 for all four days\n\n\n\n10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\n\n\n\nParticipants must bring their own lunch.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLeadership & Mission Command\n\n\n\nIn military and aviation operations\, leadership and navigation go hand in hand. Campers will work in small units\, taking turns serving as the navigator and team leader\, responsible for making decisions\, communicating clearly\, and guiding their group to mission objectives. These activities emphasize leadership skills used by military officers and pilots\, including situational awareness\, accountability\, teamwork\, adaptability\, and confidence under pressure. \n\n\n\nBy the end of the week\, campers will understand how strong leadership\, precise navigation\, and teamwork have been essential to military and aviation success—both in history and today. \n\n\n\nUnderstanding the Military in Warfare\n\n\n\nHave you ever wondered what the branches of the U.S. military actually do in warfare? Campers will learn the mission of each military branch and how they work together during times of war. Participants will explore the unique roles and capabilities of the Army\, Navy\, Air Force\, Marine Corps\, and Space Force\, and how coordination between branches is essential to successful military operations. \n\n\n\nTo put this knowledge into action\, campers will play the strategy board game Axis & Allies\, applying what they’ve learned about military roles\, leadership\, and decision-making as they plan and conduct large-scale warfare scenarios. This activity reinforces critical thinking\, teamwork\, and strategic leadership in an engaging\, hands-on way. \n\n\n\nBy the end of the program\, campers will gain a deeper understanding of how navigation\, leadership\, and joint military operations combine to achieve mission success—both historically and in modern warfare. \n\n\n\nMilitary Opportunities\n\n\n\nExplore what types of jobs and training are available in the active duty\, reserve and National Guard.  Veterans share their personal experiences of how military service impacted their life both while on active duty and as a civilian after their military service. Learn about military service and the various occupational skills that are available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFill out the registration form below to sign up!

Made popular by its mainstream appeal during WWII\, the big band continues to present a sound and excitement unmatched by any other musical ensemble. A unique and historic component to the heritage of The USAF Academy\, the Falconaires have brought the great sounds of big-band jazz to international audiences for over 50 years. In the time-honored tradition of the famous big bands\, led by historic figures such as Count Basie\, Stan Kenton and Major Glenn Miller\, this group of 18 full-time jazz musicians continues this heritage by performing the best jazz of the past\, present and future in support of USAF Academy public relations and USAF and USSF recruiting. \n\n\n\nNationally recognized within the jazz and jazz education community\, the “Falcs” also proudly promote excellence in the history and performance of America’s national treasure\, jazz\, by performing at prestigious music conventions and festivals\, such as the International Association of Jazz Educators’ International Conference\, the Music Educators National Conference\, MusicFest Canada\, the Montreaux Detroit Jazz Festival and the Telluride Jazz Celebration. Dedicated to excellence\, The USAF Academy Band Falconaires continue to reinforce America’s connection to this genre\, jazz – a music and style indigenous to the United States. \n\n\n\nThe United States Air Force Academy Band is a 60-member organization that performs for millions of people each year in support of United States Air Force Academy community relations and USAF recruiting. As one of two premier bands in the Air Force\, The Academy Band performs nearly 500 times annually from coast to coast. In addition to this impressive schedule\, the band serves and upholds a demanding performance schedule for The United States Air Force Academy\, The United States Space Force\, as well as other performances and duties in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. A tradition of musical excellence\, one of the band’s core values\, is maintained through rigorous auditions. Each member of the band brings a wealth of educational and professional experience to every performance. \n\n\n\nThe United States Air Force Academy Band and the Falconaires appear on behalf of the Superintendent\, The USAF Academy. SUMMARY:43INC with Kirstie Ennis
DESCRIPTION:On February 21st\, Mission43’s 43INC and Challenged Athletes Foundation-Idaho will present our next speaker-panel series with Kirstie Ennis: U.S. Marine Sergeant (retired)\, wounded warrior\, athlete\, humanitarian\, and inspirational role-model. \nWhen Kirstie’s helicopter crashed in Afghanistan\, she underwent more than 40 surgeries and had to have her leg amputated; but the former Marine Sgt took that as an opportunity to write a new arc in her story and has since accomplished more at the age of 28 on one leg than she could’ve ever imagined. She has turned the concept of “disabled athlete” on its head\, proving how capable she is\, competing in Boardercross\, banking Slalom as a paralympic snowboarder\, and summiting Mt Kilimanjaro to support the non-profit The Waterboys. Her list of mountaineering accomplishments also includes climbing Carstenzs\, the highest point in Oceania\, for The Heroes Project and conquering Illiniza Norte\, a 16\,818-foot peak in Ecuador. She hopes to complete the Seven Summits by climbing the highest peak on every continent before 2022. \nIn addition to being an extreme challenged-athlete\, Ennis has completed three master’s degrees (human behavior\, business administration\, and public administration) and is currently working to complete her doctorate in education. She has worked as a stuntwoman in Hollywood\, motivational speaker\, entrepreneur and businesswoman who launched a t-shirt apparel company (HeadCase)\, and recently earned her license as a real estate broker in Aspen\, Colorado. \nKirstie is as fascinating as they come and we’re barely scratching the surface in describing her. We invite you to join Mission43’s 43INC and CAF-Idaho in experiencing her inspiration on February 21st at the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa. Doors open at 5:30pm and we are expecting a capacity crowd\, so register sooner than later! \nSee you there! \nAdmission:\nFree! but please RSVP to: Mission43
